Mission Statement
We are the people of God that meet to worship, fellowship and create family ties that help in our journey to Heaven.
Our History.

The first Lord’s day worship of the Rockvale Church of Christ was held on September 26, 1943 in the Rockvale High School auditorium. The assembly later began meeting in the home of Sister Pearl Williams. Services were held there until a building could be constructed. On December 10, 1944, the first service was held in the new one-room building. The property on which it was constructed (9303 Rockvale Rd) was given to the church by Mr. & Mrs. Ed Worley.

In 1954, three classrooms were added onto the building. Years later, other additions were made including more classrooms, a nursery, a library, and outdoor pavilion. In 1996, a wing was added onto the building to enlarge the auditorium. In December 1997, the church purchased eight acres on Highway 99 with the prospects of building a new, larger facility. In the fall of 2003, construction began on the new building. It was completed in May 2004, at which time we began to hold services in the new building.

Our first permanent minister was Charles S. Locke. Since that time several men have served the congregation in this capacity on a part-time basis. Our first full-time minister was Bobby Richardson who preached for Rockvale from September 1992 until his untimely passing in May 2003. On July 9, 1995 four elders were appointed for the first time in over 30 years. On October 29, 1995 seven deacons were also appointed. In the summer of 2008, we hired our current pulpit minister, Shane Merritt and he and his family have been here for the past 13 years.
